Legislative session is gearing up and FLAG wants to be a part of the discussions in Tallahassee. Stay tuned for information about ways you can help us bring attention to gifted children and the work FLAG does so that state leaders understand why gifted education and kids are worth fighting for. We hope to have FLAG members contact their representatives (visits, letters, calls, etc. this year...) and then we will hold a legislative event in Tallahassee later in the year, prior to the 2019 session.  If you are interested in volunteering to work on the FLAG advocacy committee to plan the annual Gifted Advocacy Event at the state capitol, please email president@flagifted.org.

If you would like to join our Legislative Committee please contact our Legislative Committee.

    Florida Senate Page Program

During regular sessions of the Florida Legislature, participating students from all across the state have come to Tallahassee for one week to assist members of the Legislature in carrying out the work of the people. A one-week limit is set so that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to serve during the 60-day session.

During their assigned week, Senate Pages will assist members of the Florida Senate by distributing materials and messages, learn about the legislative process through a hands-on approach, and experience a "mock session" in which students role-play as Senators and engage in debating, discussing and voting on legislation.
